On April 21st, local time, Japan Post announced on its official website that, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has decided to temporarily suspend EMS, air, and sea parcel services to China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) starting from April 22nd. Letter mail to China will continue to be accepted as usual. The date for the resumption of EMS and other services has not yet been announced.
In addition, on April 23rd, FedEx China announced on its official website that it will resume import services from the Americas and Europe to the East China region of China (Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Jiangxi) from April 25th. However, this does not include international priority express delivery, delivery of oversized items, and international economy express delivery of oversized items.
Also, import services from the Asia-Pacific region to the East China region of China will resume, but the daily weight of each customer’s goods must be less than 50 kilograms.
It is understood that FedEx’s international express and freight center located at Shanghai Pudong International Airport has remained in operation during the pandemic.
